What could be more appropriate for a spring production than a delightful play involving an oversized bunny?

Aaron Kropf, who, directs the St. Mary Community Players’ production of “Harvey” says, “I was drawn to this play for its quirky and upbeat celebration of life. It was needed in 1945 and we still need it today in 2015.”

The Pulitzer Prize winning (1945) play was created after playwright Mary Chase had a serendipitous encounter with a mother who had lost her son in The War.

The somber situation had Chase contemplating: “Could I ever possibly write anything that might make this woman laugh again?”

After 2 years, and many revisions, “Harvey” was her answer. The comedy won instant critical and popular acclaim.

St. Mary Community Players’ production stars: John Allen, Elizabeth Cooper, Kate Gregg, Linda Harris, Art Horvath, Brian Moore, Fern Pridham, Dan Rankin, Shayna Robinson, John Stevens, Don Van Galen.
Patti Muma-Cook produces.
