Chilina Kennedy to play Carol King on Broadway

Chilina Kennedy is assuming the role of Carol King in the title role of Beautiful—The Carole King Musical, about the early life and career of the groundbreaking singer/songwriter.

Noting the impact of her success at The Stratford Festival, Marc Bruni director of Beautiful—The Carole King Musical said “After seeing her excel over the years as the preeminent leading lady of Canada’s Stratford Festival, I’m thrilled to welcome Chilina back to Broadway.”

Begins March 7th

Kennedy begins performances March 7 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre. Tony winner Jessie Mueller will play her final performance March 6.

Kennedy, a graduate of Sheridan’s musical theatre program, made her Broadway debut in 2012 as Mary Magdalene in Des McAnuff”s revival of Jesus Christ Superstar.
