If you’re a big fan of the von Trapp family, now is the time to see the national tour of “The Sound of Music.” This beloved, family-friendly musical is currently touring North America, bringing the songs everyone loves to sing with it.
Directed by the three-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, this classic musical is better than ever! Maria and the von Trapp family are back singing the Tony, Grammy, and Academy Award-winning score that we all know and love, performing at Budweiser Gardens on May 26th.
Jordan Riefe of The Hollywood Reporter says that “O’Brien’s new production “minimizes the cloying nature of the material, and will leave fans humming to themselves as they exit the theatre.”
But how do you solve a problem like Maria? Well, Jill-Christine Wiley surely knows how to portray my favourite leading lady in the perfect light.
Dan St. Ives of the Calgary Herald said that “Jill-Christine Wiley captures the role of Maria with a clear and powerful voice, but more importantly imbues her character with believability and empathy as she transforms from a confused novitiate to the linchpin member of the shattered von Trapp and his family.”
So what are you waiting for? You don’t want to miss this opportunity to sing along and enjoy “The Sound of Music” with your friends and family. The national tour is only stopping in London for one day, you can enjoy a matinee or evening show, but tickets won’t last!
