Don’t miss these 3 singer-songwriters Friday in Stratford

Dayna Manning and friends Coco Love Alcorn and Liam Titcomb perform at a songwriters’ circle at Revival House, Friday, May 6th.

Revival House is a gorgeous setting for a meeting of these three artistic souls.

The creative process never ceases to amaze me and that’s why I enjoy watching songwriters’ circles.

The give and take between singer-songwriters, watching a song take shape before your eyes, is fascinating to observe.

Joining Stratford’s Dayna Manning are Coco Love Alcorn and Liam Titcomb.

Liam grew up in a musical family.

His father, musician and songwriter Brent Titcomb, performed alongside Bruce Cockburn in the folk-rock group Three’s A Crowd. His songs have been recorded by Anne Murray (“Sing High, Sing Low”), Glen Campbell, Andy Williams, and The Osmonds.

Following in his father’s footsteps, by the age of 12 Liam was performing on various instruments as an opening act.

More recently he’s worked with a variety of Grammy Award winning producers.

Liam has a reputation for delivering captivating performances at songwriters’ circles.

Coco Love Alcorn also grew up in a musical family.

Her father John Alcorn was named “Male Vocalist of the Year” by the Jazz Report Awards. His work as music director and composer for Theresa Tova’s play “Still the Night” earned him a Dora Award.

Coco Love has toured as an opening act for Burton Cummings, Jesse Cook, Ani DiFranco, and performed at Lilith Fair.

Coco Love plays many of Toronto’s most popular venues including Hugh’s Room where she was invited to play at a tribute to Gordon Lightfoot.

Dayna’s skills as a writer continue to improve, with recent songs including “Oh Snow” (with Trent Severn) demonstrating her continued artistic evolution.

I spoke with Dayna about her career and songwriting on my podcast “The Inadequate Life.
