Comment to win Melanie Doane concert tickets

Melanie DoaneMelanie Doane recently performed with the National Theatre’s “War Horse” in Toronto. She’s a Juno award winner who has written and performed many hit songs.

Comment below to win Melanie Doane concert tickets for her Saturday, April 26th performance at Knox Church in Stratford, On.

Melanie spoke with me on my podcast “The Inadequate Life: a podcast about the creative process and people whose lives depend upon it.” She was very candid about her career choices. For example she explained her decision to leave a successful Broadway show to perform in “Noises Off” at Winnipeg’s Manitoba Theatre Centre.

Truly collaborative artist

My conversation with Melanie made me realize how strongly she values the power of music. She has a selfless, collaborative musical instinct, fueled purely by music’s power to build community and bring people together for the common good.

One gets the sense this was inspired by her father, J.Chalmers Doane, a music education legend. Onstage you’ll see that Melanie is truly a collaborative artist.

TV soundtracks

She’s also written hit songs, many of which have been featured on hit television shows such as Brothers and Sisters, Being Erica, Flashpoint, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
